ST Synergy Ltd's custom version of ST Synergy was awarded the first prize in the prestigious 1997 Comdex/Windows World Open 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia (June 1997). Microsoft CEO, Bill Gates handed the first prize trophy to Mr John Athans, CEO of ST Synergy
Ltd. An audience of 6000 guests and dignitaries were in attendance at the Georgia World Congress Centre, in Atlanta to witness the presentation following Bill Gates keynote speech. Windows World Open The Windows World Open is an international competition
designed to award developers and their companies for their innovative application work solving business problems using the Microsoft® Windows® platform. The founding sponsors of the sixth annual Windows World Open are Computerworld, Microsoft, and SOFTBANK
COMDEX. Other sponsors include Wall Data, Inc. Windows World Open contest categories are designed to reflect interesting solutions being developed in organisations as well as changing technology. Developers today have many issues with which to deal,
including legacy systems, the Internet, Intranets, adhering to company standards and more. Resolving these issues takes skill, tenacity, and focus. The Windows World Open allows developers to submit their applications for judging by a panel of experts
and to see how they measure up against their peers. This year's categories were designed to encourage and accommodate all custom applications being developed by companies and organisations from around the world. ST Synergy was awarded as a winner in
the category of 'Workflow Systems and Collaboration Process Systems'. This category includes specialised systems that support document processing, storage, or retention. The category also includes specialised systems that enable companies to create,
share, and leverage corporate knowledge.
